The story of Jimmie Vaughan and his younger brother Stevie Ray and their unbelievable rise from a small, frame house in Oak Cliff, Texas, to becoming guitar heroes, selling millions of records and playing alongside legendary rockers such as David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne and Carlos Santana. Brothers in Blues is the only film, book or production to enjoy the full cooperation of Jimmie Vaughan and Eric Clapton. Using never-before-seen photos and Vaughan brothers’ family home movies this is the story of their rise from a working-class neighborhood to the top of the rock & roll pyramid, as told by their peers, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne, Billy Gibbons, Nile Rodgers, Jimmie Vaughan and their bandmates and friends from their early days up to the pinnacle of their success. It also gives a history of the Oak Cliff and Austin music scenes that helped make their legacy possible.
